What is Blasting?
Blasting is a surface cleaning process performed using high-pressure air, blasting machines, abrasives, hoses, and associated equipment.
Although it can be used on almost any material, traditional blasting produces dust.
Hasyılsan minimizes this issue using environmentally friendly modern blasting technologies.
Blasting Surface Cleanliness Grades (ISO 8501-1)
SA 1 — Light Cleaning (Brush-Off)
Removal of loose rust and contaminants.
SA 2 — Commercial Cleaning
Thorough cleaning with noticeable roughening.
SSPC equivalent: Commercial.
SA 2½ — Near White Metal
The most commonly preferred grade.
Removes ~95% of contaminants.
SSPC equivalent: Near White.
SA 3 — White Metal Finish
Complete removal of all contaminants, leaving the steel fully exposed.
UHP Water Jetting
UHP water jetting is a dust-free surface preparation method with minimal environmental impact, ideal for risk-sensitive areas such as refineries.
Hasyılsan provides:
-
400–600 bar HPWJ cleaning
-
2,500–2,800 bar UHP blasting
Additionally, the company utilizes closed-system UHP robots equipped with vacuum units to collect wastewater and coating residues.
Dry Ice (CO₂) Cleaning
A non-abrasive, residue-free and environmentally safe cleaning method.
Dry ice pellets strike the surface at sonic speeds, freeze contaminants at –79°C, and remove them without damaging the substrate.
Advantages:
-
No chemical or solid residue
-
Environmentally friendly
-
No secondary waste
-
Safe for delicate surfaces
Automatic Blasting
Used for rapid cleaning of large-scale steel plates, beams, profiles, and fabricated components through a conveyor-based automated system.
Vapor Abrasive Blasting (EcoQuip)
A new-generation blasting technology:
-
Up to 92% dust reduction
-
Minimal water consumption
-
Ideal for environmentally sensitive areas
